Dr Abhay Muthal is a pharmacist and obtained doctorate in pharmacology from University of Nagpur, India, in 1994. He holds the position of Vice President Regulatory Affairs for global submissions at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, Vadodara, India.

He has 23 years of industrial experience in the field of Regulatory sciences and CGMP.

Dr. Abhay Muthal has published 14 Research articles and his work on Neuropeptides FMRF amide has been cited in various international journals and Patents.

He has Global Regulatory experience of Emerging markets (Asia pacific, Latam & MENA countries) as well as established regulated markets of US, EU and Japan. Further he was instrumental in carving the Regulatory Affairs Sylabii for two universities in India and was also on the task force of framing “Stability guidelines for India”.

Dr Abhay Muthal has also held many Regulatory Agencies discussions and has successfully drawn joint programs between Asian ( China, Thailand) African (Tanzania, South Africa) CIS (Russia, Ukraine) and US regulatory agencies and Industry.

He is involved in developing strategies for registration and commercialisation of complex generic products in many markets across globe.

Prof. A.N. Misra is currently Professor of Pharmacy at Faculty of Pharmacy, and former Dean, Faculty of Technology & Engineering (August 2011 to December 2015) & Head Department of Pharmacy (July 2003- October 2008) at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He has been associated with the field of pharmaceutical sciences for more than 37 years especially in development of Novel Drug Delivery Systems. 42 PhD and 123 Master students have completed their dissertation under his guidance. He has 7 books, 40 book chapters and 156 peer reviewed publications in reputed journals. His citations are as on 17.04.2017 Scopus: (h-index 30, citations 3409) Google scholar: (h-index 37, citations 4855). He is in editorial board of 15 international journals and a reviewer for more than 50 journals. He has filed 29 national and international patents out of which 7 have been granted so far. He is recipient of many prestigious awards namely national award for TAPTEC research project entitled “Liposomal Dry Powder Inhalation” on a National Technology day from Vice-President of India, Best scientist of the year award by Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India in 2009, Award conferred for contribution in pharmacy education from IES group of Bhopal in 2009 and international award for Outstanding Manuscript by American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists in 2008, Best Reviewers in Pharmaceutical Sciences for Elsevier journals by Elsevier in 2011 and Shri. N. M. Patel Distinguished Alumnus Award by MSU Pharmacy Alumni Association in 2014 and Illustrious alumnus award in 2016. He is coordinator of six major research project funded by government of India amounting 300 million rupees. He is the coordinator of TIFAC-Centre of Relevance and Excellence in NDDS, PURSE, DST, SBIRI, DBT and Sub coordinator of Interdisciplinary Life Science program of Advance Research and Education, DBT. He is advisor to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food and cosmetics industries.

Ashok Kumar

Dr. Ashok Kumar carried out his Ph.D. work at CDRI, Lucknow under the supervision of Padmashree Dr.Nitya Nand. This was followed by Post-Doctoral studies with Prof. Sir John Cornforth, a Chemistry Nobel Laureate, at the University of Sussex, England from 1981-1984.

He started his carrier with Alchemie Research Centre at ICI, Bombay in 1985 and served Lupin before taking up the job with Ipca Laboratories Mumbai, in the year 2000 and is presently heading the Centre for Research & Development of Ipca, engaged in Chemical and Biotechnological R&D, New Drug Development and Intellectual Property Management in the capacity of President.

He is a co-author in more than 35 Papers published in peer reviewed International Journals, co-inventor in more than 100 patent applications filed, has presented scientific papers in many International Conferences in addition to delivering invited talks at various Institutions / Conferences on R&D Management, Idea Management, Innovations, Philosophy of New Drug Discovery & many more such topics.

Dr Alpesh Pathak

Dr. Alpesh has written a book Entitled “Protecting Patent Fundamentals” which is well appreciated in patent professionals and major universities wherein patent is one of the value added subject in the respective technical discipline.

He works on a variety of intellectual property matters at Intas at Global Level, including IP due diligence of Biosimilar, IP activities for 351(k) filing, FTF Para IV filing for ANDA, Handling litigation across the globe and related activities, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, drafting and negotiation of intellectual property agreements with third parties, and due diligence analyses in supporting in-licensing and out-licensing activities.

Prior to joining Intas, Dr. Alpesh has worked with some of the leading pharmaceutical companies like Alembic Ltd, Lupin Ltd., Zydus Cadila and Cadila Pharmaceuticals. Alpesh holds a PhD degree from The Sardar Patel University. Dr. Alpesh Pathak is a registered Patent agent. Besides having PG diploma in Patent Law degree from Nalsar Uni, Hyderabad, he has undergone various specialized courses on US litigations and European patent practices. He has completed Masters from the Sardar Patel University, and a B.Sc. from the Same University with specialization in organic chemistry. Dr. Alpesh is also active in certain knowledge development programs for creating IP awareness by conducting lectures in various universities and conferences in India and abroad. He also currently a visiting faculty at Sardar Patel University and Gujarat Technical University (GTU).

He has in-depth understanding of R&D functioning for generics including creation of system driven organization and improving productivity

Rajaram has 20 plus years of diverse experience within pharmaceutical industry and management consulting focusing on Strategic Planning, Business Development, Portfolio and Project Management, Market Research / Competitive Intelligence.

Currently, he is working as Vice President at Mankind Pharma and is responsible for establishing the US business. Prior to this, he was associated with Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals Ltd where he was responsible for establishing the specialty portfolio. During his tenure at Aurobindo, he led the portfolio integration for one the largest acquisitions in Europe and also led one joint venture (JV) for successful foray into Oncology.

He has also worked with Dr. Reddy’s and Torrent pharmaceuticals ltd. At Dr. Reddy’s, he was based in the US and was responsible for corporate planning and business development activities for their NCE portfolio. At Torrent pharmaceuticals ltd, he has established the project management and competitive intelligence function for their discovery operations.

Dr. Villoo Morawala-Patell is the founder and current Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Biotechnology company Avesthagen. Dr. Patell was awarded a Ph.D in 1993 in Plant molecular biology from University of Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg in France and did a Post-doctoral tenure from University of Ghent, Belgium. She has received several prestigious grants from Institutions such as The Rockefeller Foundation, Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR), DFID etc. Dr. Patell and her group at Avesthagen have to their credit several patent applications in the field of Gene Discovery, Gene Functionality, Gene Transformation, Bioinformatics and Biotherapeutics. Dr. Patell is a member of Advisory Board for Biotechnology at Mysore University as well. Owing to her pioneering work in the field of molecular biology, Dr. Patell has long-standing professional relationships with individuals, institutions and corporates working in the domain of Agri-Biotechnology across the world. She is a key member of the Task Force and Vision Group for Biotechnology, instituted by the State Government of Karnataka and founding member of the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE).

Dr. Patell has received the BioSpectrum Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2006 and Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur for the year 2005-2006 from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
